Anointing and Baptism - Murray Lambert

"So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon David." (1 Sam 16:13) 
David's anointing as King of Israel foreshadowed Jesus' Baptism as King of Heaven and Earth. As Christians (meaning "Anointed ones") we are now marked out by the Holy Spirit as Kings and Queens of God's Kingdom.
