An Anchor of Hope - Mitch Levingston

BANTER - Jesus: Greater than Melchizedek

Welcome to BANTER; the weekly podcast where we unpack Sunday's sermon. 
The enigmatic figure of Melchizedek is only mentioned twice in the Old Testament (Gen. 14 & Ps. 110) and then out of the blue, suddenly appears in the letter to the Hebrews. M&M take a deep dive on the significance of Melchizedek. 
They ruminate on the significance of Kings, Priests and in turn what these two roles look like in conjunction, they question how the foreign character of Melchizedek informs our perspective and engagement with "the other" in our faith walk, and look at a special mention of Melchizedek in the Dead Sea Scrolls - oh, it's gonna get real nerdy today.
